New Arduino based CO2 datalogger

The new version of the CO2 logger based on the #Arduino platform is now in use after successful laboratory testing. This 4th version is based on the Adafruit Feather M0 Adalogger board (https://www.adafruit.com/product/2796#technical-details) + DS3231 Precision RTC FeatherWing shield.

The sensor remains the CozIR®- 10,000 ppm CO2 Sensor (https://www.co2meter.com/…/cozir-ambient-10000-ppm-co2…).

An improved code has been written for this logger. It is powered by a 6600 mAh LiPO battery. This logger is half the size of previous versions. One advantage of the logger is that it can be calibrated on-site, regardless of the current CO2 concentration. The interval is also programmable. In this version, the data is recorded on a micro SD card, making data retrieval extremely simple.

Data and trend comparison between CO2Meter data logger (1) and Adafruit CO2 datalogger (2)

Descriptive Statistics:
Mean CO2 Levels:  Logger 1 (CO2Meter): 1910.08 ppm / Logger 2 (Cardikarstduino):   1827.31 ppm

Standard Deviation:  Logger 1: 298.37 ppm / Logger 2: 281.83 ppm

Min and Max CO2 Levels: Logger 1: Min: 1282 ppm, Max: 2693 ppm   Logger 2: Min: 1154.5 ppm, Max: 2458.75 ppm

Correlation between Logger 1 and Logger 2 = 0.88 ==> indicates a strong positive correlation between the two loggers’ measurements, suggesting that they track the CO2 trends similarly.
