Memebers of the Croatian CARDIKARST project team Nenad Buzjak and Dalibor Paar held on 12.10. a meeting with the representative of the company Pileus Iztok Miklavčič during which a part of the equipment for field measurements in Croatia was delivered and the dynamics of the delivery of the remaining equipment were agreed. The adaptation of individual instruments to the needs of field measurements in caves was also discussed. The length of the cables for the CO2 sensors was especially highlighted so that the instrument itself could be dislocated from active water flows, the level of which can vary significantly in cave conditions.
In Friday field work was carried out in Planinska jama, where measuring instruments were installed to continuously monitor the concentration of CO2 in the water and in the air. In situ spot measurements of the concentration of CO2 were carried out at locations along the underground river Pivka and in the cave passage above. Slovenian project members Vanessa E. Johnston and Franci Gabrovšek and Croatian members Nenad Buzjak and Dalibor Paar participated in the activities.
After the field research, a team meeting was held in IZRK ZRC SAZU to determine the schedule of project activities.
