On June 21, 2024, at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Rijeka, Dalibor Paar presented the CARDIKARST project as an example of interdisciplinary environmental research. At the same time, the importance of CO2 in the carbonate weathering was highlighted, giving karst aquifers a potential role as a net global CO2 sink. The topic aroused the interest of researchers at the faculty who are engaged in research in the field of environmental physics, and future cooperation options were discussed. In the discussion, the importance of popularizing these scientific researches was particularly highlighted in order to improve the understanding of the basics of processes related to climate change at all levels.
