The members of the Cardikarst team participated in the 2023 Croatian Cavers’ Annual Meeting, which was held in Čakovec from November 24 to 26, 2023. We presented the project’s results in a lecture delivered by Dalibor Paar titled Research on the Carbon Cycle in Caves. The lecture introduced cavers from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, and Austria to the project’s goals, data collection methods, and some examples of the processed data we have gathered so far.
Gatherings of this type are highly engaging and provide an important platform for presenting scientific projects and research. This helps to strengthen collaboration with speleological clubs, whose members can support scientists with their expertise, information, and skills. In this project, we have established such collaboration with speleologists from Zagreb, Samobor, and Rakovica, who occasionally assist us in fieldwork (Speleološki odsjek PDS Velebit, Speleološki klub Samobor i Speleološko društvo Rakovica).
